He is the husband of Ella Mae King Pharis, a retired accountant, native of Winchester and son of the late Sidney A. and Ellen Engle Pharis. Other survivors are a son, Vernon G. Pharis, Jr., North Plainfield, N. J.; and five grandchildren. services are at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home by Rev. Franklin McGuire. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home at 5-9 p.m. today and 3-9 p.m. Monday.
