Lexington Herald, Lexington, Kentucky, Thursday, November 20, 1941, Page 8, Col. 1: Mrs. Marion Anderson Passes At Chicago. Mrs. Alice Pharis Anderson, wife of Marion C. Anderson, formerly of Lexington, died Tuesday night at her home in Chicago, Ill., according to word received here by her brother, Vernon G. Pharis. Born and reared in Clark county, Mrs. Anderson was a daughter of Mrs. Ellen Engle Pharis of camp Point, Ill., and the late Sidney Allen Pharis. For a number of years she was connected with the Wolf-Wile Company here before moving to Chicago in 1926 to make her home. Besides her mother and brother, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. James Everman of Chicago; two nephews, John R. Madeira of Phoenix, Ariz., and Vernon G. Pharis Jr., of Lexington, and two aunts, Mrs. Nancy Cummins of Camp Point and Mrs. Clemmie Owens of Erlanger. Funeral services will be held Friday at McMinnville, Tenn.
