Rockford--Two prosecutors who helped send a man to prison for his role in the torching of two Blackhawk Island mobile homes will be honored today for their work. Assistant State's attorney Mark Karner and Scott Salemi prosecuted Raymond Thingvold in March. The Illinois chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators will recognize their efforts at a banquet tonight at the Ramanda Inn. While in jail in 1988, Thingvold hired two men to burn the home of a man set to testify against him in a criminal trial. The men, twice mistakenly burned the wrong mobile home. Thingvold was sentenced to 60 years in prison on two counts of arson in May.
