Thingvold, 68, of Rockford passed away suddenly Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, of a massive heart attack. Born March 4, 1942, to Elmer and Hazel Thingvold. Married Novella Pinkston on June 4, 1966. They were blessed 19 years later by their son, Kurt, and later their daughter, Nicole. He was employed by Chrysler Corp. for 46 years and part-time for 30 years by Oakview Truck Stop. He is survived by his wife, Novella "Frannie"; son, Kurt; daughter, Nicole; his buddy, his grandson, Noah; brothers, Buford (Darla), Robert (Linda) and Raymond; sisters-in-law, Linda S. Houston and Martha (Glen) Murry; brothers-in-law, Gary, Dennis "Binkie" and Earl (Margie) Pinkston; and nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; sister, Althea; brothers, Virgil, Donavon and Alton; and dog, Tuck. He will live in our hearts forever and the grateful hearts of those he helped after his death. The family would like to thank Earl and Margie Pinkston, who were there to help during the last year and who have been a "rock." Also, those who helped him at work during his crisis. "We will be together again, but remember you're waiting on a woman who was never on time anyway. I would give anything to hear you say 'I love you' one more time." Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Rockford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time.
