Thingvold, age 76, died Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Alden-Park Strathmoor in Rockford. He was born December 22, 1939 in Black River Falls, WI the son of Elmer E. and Hazel M. (Clason) Thingvold. Robert graduated from East High School and attended Rock Valley College. He worked over 40 years as an inspector at Sundstrand in Rockford in the Aviation Dept. He married Doris Higdon on February 27, 1960 in Rockford. She preceded him on August 21, 1997. He was also predeceased by his parents, 1 sister, and 4 brothers. He is survived by his children; Glenda McCarthy of Loves Park, Wanda Bush of Byron, Carla "Jeannie"( Keenan) Wolfe of Byron, Brian (Allen Hollin) Thingvold, and Jessica (Sam Lachowicz) Woollcombe of Rockford, a stepdaughter Boramay Raz of Rockford, brother Buford Thingvold of Milwaukee, 5 grandchildren; Christopher Weaver, Jeffrey Weaver, Shawn Weaver, Adam Bush, and Leah Bush. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt Road in Stillman Valley, IL with the Pastor Tim Michalek of the Congregational Christian Church in Stillman Valley officiating. Entombment will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Loves Park. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Stillman Valley, IL.
