Collapsing at East State and 7th streets as she was waiting for a bus at 7:40 o'clock last night, Mrs. Fred Servatius, 63, 2311 East State street, died at St. Anthony hospital at 10:30 p.m. A post-mortem examination will be made today in an effort to determine the cause of death, acting Coroner Glen Burke said. Police detectives Clarence Read and William Laird, who happened to drive past a few minutes after Alderman Richard Keye had saved her from collapsing in the middle of the street in front of an automobile, said they believed she may have suffered from an attack of ptomaine poisoning.

Blames Brain Hemorrhage. Burke, however, said his investigation indicated death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Alderman Keye said he was waiting for an East State street bus when he saw Mrs. Servatius, her arms laden with several large packages, on the north side of the street. He said she started across the street and then hesitated as she reached the middle of the street. Keye stopped an approaching eastbound car and then helped her back to the curbing where she suddenly slumped to the walk. She was taken to the hospital in the police ambulance.
