Six foot tall, dark complexion, gray eyes, brown hair and a farmer by occupation.

On the 1880 Census of Goode, Franklin Co. Illinois Francis appears with his wife Lucy J., and children, Sarah Ann, William, Monroe A., Cora, Isaac F., Ira A., and Ida M. Francis' mother Sarah is also in the household. Isaac and Ira are both 2 years old.
