Elizabeth Kirkpatrick was born 17 Dec 1816 in Jackson Co., TN, the fifth child of John Kirkpatrick, and the third child of her mother Sarah (Tinsley) Kirkpatrick. She married on 27 October 1833 to William Tinsley Mulkey son of Phillip Mulkey, the minister who had conducted the marriage of her parents. William was born abt 1815 in Tennessee. Elizabeth moved with her parents when just a baby to Franklin Co., Illinois. She is found living there with her family in the 1850 census.

On the 1880 U. S. Census Elizabeth Mulkey is in the home of her son-in-law F. H. (Franklin H. Kirkpatrick).
