Father of Roland R. Stevens, Wilmington, De., and Mrs. John (Lillie) Peterson, Bothell, Wash. Brother of Norman Stevens, Dean Stevens, Mrs. Isabell Garver, Mrs. Walter (Lynne) Head, Eurekans, Mrs. Charles (Ruby) Woosley, Monroe, Wash., Mrs. Harry (Marion) Westfall, Bozeman, Montana, Mrs. Vila Pinkerton, Bozeman and Mrs. Sidney (Nila) Morrison, Bear River. He was the grandfather of Jill and Kelly Stevens, Brian, Eric and Kurt Koesler and Chris Peterson. He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stevens was native of Decorah, Iowa, aged 80. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local No. 3, and the Humboldt County Historical Society. He was employed as a heavy equipment engineer,k working for various local contractors, until his retirement. He was a 55-year resident of Humboldt County. Friends are invited to attend services on Saturday, Aug. 12 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Pierce Mortuary, Eureka, with the Rev. David Olson officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be, Cord Wolfe, Sonja Wolfe, Garland Bannon, William E. Thompson, Sheriff Gene Cox and Captain Edward Hulburt. Honorary: Ike Moxon, Robert Martensen, John Martensen, Frank Swope, Baron Wolfe, Loren and Walter Head. Friends may call at the chapel from noon-5 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund.
