Obituary from the Redwood City Tribune-Peninsula Times Tribune: Mrs. Mabel C. Johnson, mother of retired San Carlos Postmaster Herman J. (Bud) Johnson, died Saturday at Menlo Park Extended Care Hospital. Mrs. Johnson, 87, came to San Carlos 20 years ago from San Francisco. Her home was at 1037 Elm St. A native of Wisconsin, she moved to California in 1927. She retired in 1952 as an employee of the purchasing department for the U. S. Army at Fort Mason, San Francisco.

(Bud) Johnson. The native of Wisconsin came to California in 1927 and and moved to San Carlos 20 years ago. In addition to her son, Mrs. Johnson is survived by three grandchildren. six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was a member of San Carlos Chapter 551, Order of Eastern Star, and the San Carlos American Legion Post 585 Auxiliary. Services at White Oaks Chapel, San Carlos, were under the auspices of the San Carlos Chapter of OES. Interment was to be at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.
