Gladys Fetters 97 passed away Sunday August 26, 2018 at Reid Health in Hospice Care. She was born June 21, 1921 in Bellfonte, Arkansas to Levi and Stella Judd Sandlin and lived here all her life.



Gladys married Orval J. Fetters July 4, 1945 in Neosha, Missouri, while he was in the military. She worked along long side Orval in the family businesses, Automatic Dispensers and The Tiny Diner. She formerly worked at The Wayne County Tourism and Convention Bureau.



She was a graduate of Morton High School. Gladys was a faithful member of Centerville Christian Church, and served many years as a greeter. She was a member of the former Ladies of the Shrine. She loved knitting, ceramics, and in her later years enjoyed word search, reading, and playing Bingo. As a volunteer for Reid Health, she knitted over 100 hats for newborns.



Survivors include three children Tonia (Tim) Brady of Richmond, Del (Laura) Fetters of Concord, North Carolina, and Jana Killion (Jeff Webb) of Atlanta, four grandchildren Chris (Joy) Brady of Kingman, Arizona, Shawn (Heather) Brady of Terre Haute, Tyler Killion of Noblesville, and Devon Killion of Brooklyn, New York, six great grandchildren Hyrum (Monica) Romrell of West Valley Idaho, Ruby (Brett) Rader of Lebanon, Ohio, Amy (Jared) Nye of Eaton, Ohio, Grant (Sydney) Romrell of Tucson, Arizona, Tonia Joann Brady and Nick Brady of Terre Haute, eight great-great grandchildren Luke, Avery, and Levi Romrell, Preston, and Brooklyn Rader, and Molly and Lilly Nye, and Carter Killion, nieces and nephews.



Her husband Orval died in 1988; two sons Edwin and Duane Fetters, her parents, one brother Edwin Sandlin, and three sisters Frankie Burelison, Rosemary Jenkins, and Grace Turner are also deceased.



Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday September 1, 2018 in the funeral chapel of Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home, with Rev. Wes Sewell and Rev. Terry Cochran officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
