Obituary from Oroville Mercury, Tuesday, March 7, 1933, First Page: Funeral Services Set Thursday for S. H. Kirkpatrick. Services for Samuel Henry Kirkpatrick 82, a resident of Butte county for many years, will be held at Berry Creek cemetery at 2 p.m. Thursday under auspices of Hamilton and Riley's. Kirkpatrick died at his home at Brush Creek at 8 p.m. Sunday without medical attendance. An autopsy performed Monday by Dr. B. C. Epperson established the cause of death as cirrhosis of the liver. Kirkpatrick was born in the southern part of Illinois in 1852. He was brought across the plains as a baby, reaching Marysville in November, 1852. He was reared in Santa Clara county and came to Butte county in 1886. He has followed the mining and lumber industries since then. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ida A. Kirkpatrick of Brush Creek, four daughters, Mrs. Grace Peterson of Seattle, Mrs. E. W. Riegert of Santa Cruz, Mrs. M. S. Ferguson of Brush Creek, and Mrs. K. V. Allen of Brush Creek and 22 grandchildren.
