Arkebauer, 71, Lockwood, who died at 10 p.m. Sunday at Dade County Memorial Hospital here after three years of ill health, will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lockwood. The Rev. Darrel Hoerle will officiate. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery, Lockwood. Contributions may be made to the Arkebauer trust for the mentally retarded, in care of the funeral home. Mr. Arkebauer was born Aug. 3, 1912, at Kanorado, Kan. He was principal and teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School at Lockwood for seven years before retiring. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod's Committee on Religious Education of the Mentally Retarded and secretary of the International Walther League. He married Geraldine Wenzel on Aug. 8, 1937, at Fort Dodge, Iowa. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, James B. Arkebauer, Denver, Colo., and Michael R. Arkebauer, of the home; a sister, Hedwig Steffens, Wichita, Kan.; a brother, Arthur Arkebauer, Moline, Ill.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
