Deseret News, September 21, 2011, Salt Lake City, Utah. Gunnison, Utah: The angels called home our loving, caring, sweet grandma, Mildred Rossie Baker Duggins, 93, in the early morning hours of September 20th, 2011, with her granddaughter, Monica, by her side. Mildred was born October 12, 1917, in Hazard, KY to Jasper and Myrtle Johnson Baker. At the age of five she moved to Fayette, Utah, where she lived until she met and married Paul J. Duggins on January 30, 1940, in Provo, Utah. Paul and Mildred moved to California where they had one daughter, Bonnie. In 1970, she and Paul returned to Sanpete County to reside in Gunnison. After Paul died in 2005, she moved to Salt Lake City to be close to her family. Mildred was never afraid of work and was one of the hardest working people anyone knew. In California she worked for The May Company and See's Candy. In Gunnison, she worked for Peterson Chevrolet and Freedom Ford as a book keeper. She was a loyal employee and meticulous in her work. She retired at the age of 85. She took great care in keeping her house clean and ready for company at any time. You could find her in her flower beds pulling weeds and planting her favorite red geraniums every spring. She brought warmth and kindness to all who knew her, especially her family. She spent the last few years of her life living in the homes of her closest family members. Mildred is survived by her granddaughters Jennifer Olsen, Monica (Ken) Bell, and two great grandsons, Kenny and Charlie Bell. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul and daughter Bonnie. She will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her. The family extends their appreciation to CareSource for their loving care. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Centerfield LDS Chapel, 210 South Main, where friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Gunnison Cemetery.
