Obituary from Deseret News, Tuesday, October 4, 2005: Paul Julius Duggins 1913 ~ 2005 Gunnison, Utah. Paul Julius Duggins, 92, of Gunnison, Utah, passed away October 2, 2005, in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a long illness. He was born March 11, 1913, in Salt Lake City, to S. Julius and Estella Park Duggins. He married Mildred Baker on January 30, 1940, in Provo, Utah. Paul served during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Los Angeles Police Department after 21 years of service. He loved fishing, hunting and the outdoors. After retirement, he and his family moved back to Gunnison. He loved Gunnison and was happy to return. He was a member of the LDS church and served as a ward finance clerk for several years. He is survived by his wife, Mildred, Gunnison; daughter, Bonnie Duggins, Salt Lake; granddaughters, Jennifer Olsen, Salt Lake; and Monica (Kenneth) Bell, Salt Lake; and great-grandson, Kenneth Bell, III. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jay (Lucille) Duggins; sisters, Theresa (Waldo) Villard and June (Wendell) Lowry. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at 12 Noon in the Gunnison 3rd Ward LDS Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel in Gunnison on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at the chapel on Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery with military rites by the Gunnison American Legion Post #104.
