Kenneth Edward Hosier

On the 1930 U. S. Census of Oakland, Alameda Co., California Kenneth appears with his wife Juanita and son Kenneth. They are indexed under the name Whosier instead of Hosier. They were located on the census because they were living next door to Kenneth's aunt Gertrude (Rolley) Parker.
Obituary from the Times-Standard, Tuesday, January 16, 1973: Hosier, Kenneth E., January 14, 1973 in Crescent City, Resident of 2123 Rohnerville Rd., Fortuna. Husband of Juanita Hosier of Fortuna. Father of Kenneth E. Hosier, Jr. of Pleasant Hill. Grandfather of of Kenneth Hosier III and Frederick Guy Hosier, both of Pleasant Hill. He is also survived by one great-granddaughter and numerous other relatives. A native of Eureka, Mr. Hosier attended Fortuna Grammar School and graduated from Fortuna High School in 1916. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in U.S. Air Force. He became a life member of Walker Bailey Post 205 of American Legion of Fortuna in March, 1972. He was technical advisor of the American Legion Dept. of California on the Housing Commission. Mr. Hosier was a member of the First Christian Church of Fortuna, and was a member of Fruitvale Lodge 336, F. & A.M. of Oakland. He worked for many years for California State Division of Forestry, and was a member of the Retired State Employees Assoc-iation. He was 75. Friends are invited to attend services in the chapel of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary, Thursday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend James Hastings of Fortuna First Christina Church and officers of the Eel River Lodge No. 147 F and A.M. officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Eureka. Services are under the auspices of Walker Bailey Post 205, American Legion. Those wishing to make memorial contributions may do so to the Fortuna First Christian Church, c/o Reverend James Hastings, 9th and O Sts., Fortuna.
