The Tacoma News Tribune, Tacoma, Washington, Monday, Dec. 4, 1967: Willie H. Herbert, 73, of 405 S. 61st St., died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born in North Dakota and came to Tacoma in 1942 from Montana. Mr. Herbert was a retired saw operator at St. Paul and Tacoma Lumber, Division of St. Regis Paper Company, and member of the Gold Age Club and the Lumber and Sawmill Workers Union. Survivors include his wife, Edna; three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Jacqueline) Gilmore, of Puyallup; Mrs. Dan (Shirley) Evans of Tacoma and Mrs. Robert (Wanda) Hendricks of Lewisburg, Pa.; three sons, Clyde Gamett, of Spokane, Vernon Herbert of Stockton, Calif. and Leslie Herbert of Seeley Lake, Mont.; a sister Mrs. Gertrude Torkelson, of Portland; 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Services will be announced by Mountain View Funeral Home.
