Obituary from unknown Seminole County, Oklahoma newspaper: Mr. Cowan Rites Slated On Monday. Funeral services for Ernest Cowan, 79, 310 N. Jefferson, Seminole, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Swearingen Arnhart Chapel with Rev. M. E. Cowan of Hot Springs, Ark. officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Seminole. Mr. Cowan, longtime Seminole resident, was born June 27, 1911 in Pierce. He died Thursday at Pioneer Nursing Home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mercedes Cowan of the home; three sons, Ronnie Cowan of Scipie, Calif., Gary Cowan of California and Larry Cowan of Tulsa; one brother, Steve Cowan of the nursing home in Wewoka; two sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Foster of Seminole and Mrs. Rosella Bolton of Bixby and several grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Robertson, Mark Gordon, Phillip Gordon, Leo Stevens, Lonnie Berry and Wesley Smith. The casket will remain open until service time and will not be opened thereafter.
