Posted at Find-A-Grave.com: Sylvia Saxon Kirkpatrick, 73, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Nov. 7, 1935, in Houlka to Carrol Saxon and Oma Earline Saxon. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Zion Congregational Methodist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Houston Funeral Home with Rev. Gregg Moss officiating. Burial will follow at Chickasaw Memorial Gardens in Houston. Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include two sons, John D. Kirkpatrick Jr. of Houston and Carroll Saxon Kirkpatrick (Lori) of Cordova, Tenn.; one brother, Glen Saxon (Pat) of Houston; and four grandchildren, Trey Kirkpatrick, Martha Kirkpatrick, Haley Kirkpatrick, of Houston and Katie Kirkpatrick of Cordova, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Doyle Kirkpatrick Sr. on May 26, 2007; and her parents. Pallbearers will be Robert Sanford, Dewitt Moore, William Alvin Collums, Mark Bray, Mike Langley, Robert Stroupe, Mike Pearson and Dr. Thomas Powell Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Johnson, Lynn Johnson, Wallace Norman Jr., W.D. Hill, Rayburn Saxon, Leslie Goodson, Robert Taylor and Steve Pearson. Visitation will continue from noon until service time today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Wesley Chapel Cemetery Trust Fund, C/O Regions Bank, P.O. Box 271, Houston, MS 38851.
