Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 1 o'clock at Wesley Chapel Church for Carroll H Saxon, 55, who died suddenly at his home at Old Houlka Monday afternoon. The Rev. Mr. Collins, the Rev. Crawford Ray, and the Rev. Oscar Nabors officiated. Te deceased was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Glen and Bettie Saxon and had lived in Houlka all of his life. He was a well known retired farmer. Mr. Saxon leaves his wife, the former Oma Stroup Saxon and two children, Sylvia and Glen; five sisters, Mrs. John J Thomas of Okolona, Mrs. Myrtle Harmon of Okolona, Mrs. W L Davidson of Benoit, Mrs. G T Barnes of Okolona and Mrs. Vera Stroup of Houlka; two brothers, Curt Saxon of Houlka and Arch Saxon of Pontotoc. Pallbearers were E G Wages, Guy Lantrip, Earl Aron, Leroy Andrews, Leland Norman and Ted Brown. Interment was in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery with Cook Funeral Home of Houlka in charge.
