After his marriage in 1926 Dick emigrated to the United States. Bridie, his wife, joined him a year later and they and their family settled in Brooklyn, New York. Dick worked as a "train man" on the subway, according to the 1940 census, and later worked in the New York City high school system. At the time of his death (1962), he and Bridie were living at 331 76th St. in Brooklyn.
