He was born in Savana, Illinois, (which doesn't match other info I have from Hamp researchers). Informant was Johnnie K. Hamp, his son?. He was cremated at Brookside Crematory in Houston Texas. Writing is difficult to read, but may have died of cirhossis of the liver

Frank and Grace also raised Civian Collins (b. 1911). She was not adopted, but went by the name of Hamp. She was Gertrude's sister's child.
