    Birth

    Varnum is located at 57 degrees, 49 minutes north and 13 degrees 7 minutes, sixty seconds east (57.8167 lat., 13.1333 long.)

    Property

    Gustaf went to Kroksjves in Hillared from Rangedala parish (located next to Varnum) in 1860. When Gustaf and Gustafva married a year later, Gustafva was living with her mother at Kroksjves (Krokåsen?).

    Marriage

    Supposedly Gustuva married out of a royal family to marry Gustaf, though no details are known.

    Religion

    The church was organized in June, 1882, according to the 1904 Directory of Manchester, NH. Several of Gustaf's and Gustava's children were confirmed at this church. It is located at 65 Sagamore St. in Manchester. Phone number (603) 623-3451.

    Emigration

    Gustaf and 16-year-old daughter Elvina left their home in Marbäck on April 2, 1886, and from the port of Göteborg on April 9, 1886, headed for Manchester, England. Their ticket number was 28:303:3990. Several other people from Marbäck left for Manchester on the same boat, one being 18-year-old Frans Gustafson from Lyrestad, Skaraborg, Sweden. His ticket number was 28:306:4091.

    Gustaf and his daughter, Elvina, arrived in Boston aboard the "Cephalonia" when he was 52 years old and she was 16. His occupation was listed as "Laborer".

    Death

    According to the death records at the cemetery, Gustaf was 81 year, 8 months, 6 days old when he died of "uraemia". This agrees with the birthdate I found for him. The undertaker was E.D. Goodwin.

    Burial

    He is buried with his wife in the "Swedish Lawn" section 53, grave 2373.
