1917 Petition for Naturalization dated 22 May 1917 shows his emigration to USA , his wife's first name and DOB, plus the fact that he arrived in California on 19 Sept. 1908. The document was witnessed by his uncle S.T. Stagg, a meat cutter living at 2637 Glen Eden St., Los Angeles, CA. and T.O. Abernathy, a checker, living at 545 Crocker St., Los Angeles, CA.
1913 Declaration of Intention dated 29 Jan. 1913 shows him as a machinist.
1908 emigrated from Liverpool on 28 Aug. 1908 to Quebec. Then, via Grand Trunck RR, to Port Huron, Michigan, arrived on 5 Sept. 1908. Arrived in Calif. on 19 Sept. 1908. Info from his Petition for Naturalization dated 22 May 1917 (see above). 1908 marriage is from Free BMD as Sept Qt Aston 6D-503 and needs confirmation.
1901 census shows him age 17, single and living with his parents at 61 Wheeler St., St. George dist., Birmingham.
