William Henry Titus

Per "A Genealogical Guide to the Titus Family in North America" compiled by William R. Arthurs received 25 June 1996 by e-mail shows Henry Titus worked in the iron mines until joining the army during the Civil War. Served in the 2nd Regiment of New Hampshire Infantry. Was severely wounded at Williamsburg, VA on May 5, 1862. Discharged on Sep. 27, 1862. This info is from the William R. Arthurs study. A hand written note by Elvira Titus Spencer has the same info showing him as a private and in Baton Rouge at war end. "Titus Family in America" by Dorothy M. Titus dated July 1943 and in the DAR 1982 library states Henry Titus lived in Kansas, had eight childern and many grand-childern.
