Living with him in Stratford was Lydia age 67 (must be his wife) who was born in Mass., Priscella (must be his daughter) age 29 born in NH, Madison, then (must be his son) age 24 born in NH and Lucretia (must be his daughter) age 22 born in NH.
1840 census shows him as age 50-60 male living with 1 male age 10-15 (James), 2 males age 20-30 (John & Elisha Jr.), 1 female age 10-15 (Lucretia), 1 female age 15-20 (Priscella) and 1 female age 50-60 (wife Lydia) in Stratford, Coos Co. Next door was his son, Marcus D. Johnson and his family.
1830 census for Stratford, Coos Co. shows him as head of his family, a male age age 30-40 (actual age was 47) living with 1 male age 0-5 (James), 2 males ages 15-20 (Elisha Jr. & John), 2 females ages 0-5 (Lucretia & ?), 1 female age 5-10 (Priscella), 2 females ages 10-15 (Samantha & Hannah), 1 female age 20-30 (Ann or Lydia) and 1 female age 40-50 (wife Lydia). Next door were his brothers, Samuel and John M. Johnson and their families.
1820 census shows him as head of his family as age 26-45 living in Stratford, Coos Co., NH with a woman age 26-45 (wife Lydia) 2 male children age less than 10 (son John and Elisha Jr.), a male age 10-15 (son Marcus), 2 females age under 10 (daughters Hannah and Samantha) and 1 female age 10-15 (daughter Lydia or Ann). They are living near his brother Samuel Johnson with his wife and family.

Elisha had not yet married so he would be living at home. Next door was his brother William with a young daughter and wife. This is also a different county then Coos.
