Notes
Birth
His tombstone states he died Aug. 7, 1881, in his 76th yr. so he would have been born about 1805 to 1806. His exact date of birth has not been verified.Probate
His will was written on 20 August 1878 and was probated on 20 August 1881. The witnesses were Arthur Devlin and William Gillin. His son, Henry A. Ribblett, was the executor. He leaves his real and personal property to his grandchildren, Abraham Grant and Mary Ann Ribblett (children of his son Henry). His son Henry has the right to live on his father's real estate during his natural lifetime. His father's property is protected from any debts incurred by Henry or his present wife. If Henry's grandchildren die without issue, then his property is to be divided between his daughters: Catharine Jane Brown, Mary Ann Alter, and Lucinda Brown with the stipulation that Henry can live there during his natural lifetime.Endnotes
