Notes
Probate
George Peter of Heidelberg Township owned 155 acres of land at the time of his death. His son Herman petitioned the Court to partition or value the real estate on 21 January 1794. According to the petition George Peter left a widow Elisabeth (his second wife) and the following children: Herman, Leonard, Eva married to Philip Heavner, John, Jacob, Jonas, and Catharine. The final distribution from the estate was approved by the Court on 15 September 1796. Herman as the eldest son received a double portion. Guardians were appointed for the children from his second marriage: Jacob who was over 14 years of age at the time of his death and for Jonas and Catharine who were under 14 years of age at the time of his death.Endnotes
