Notes
Property
He was still living in Bethel Township, Berks County when he purchased this property in 1837.Property
My husband and I visited this property in the summer of 2018 and were able to find its location based on the original warrant and a modern map laid over top of it. The largest tract that Benjamin Boddorf owned was along Meckville Road but it is not known whether he received the top or bottomn part of warrant tract 107. There is no house or foundation remaining from when Benjamin Boddorf lived there. We talked to a few of the local residents and none of them knew the history of the property. I wrote to Debra Benzel who sent me information on Jacob Meck and the history of Meckville. I traced the history of the property using deeds from when Benjamin Boddorf sold it to Jacob Long in 1839 and until Jacob R. Meck bought it in 1900. The two parcels that Benjamin Boddorf owned remained intact as it was bought and sold. It becomes more difficult to trace the history of the property after 1900 since the tracts of land are not mentioned separately in later deeds.Property
