identifies Kalanimanuia as male. However, several narratives in Fornander and Kamakau refer to her as female. It is likely that some historians would assume a ruler to be male.
Conflict: Helekunihi Genealogy, Hms G54, p 27 states Kalanimanuia is the daughter of Paakanilea and Kikenui, child of Kaihokolu.
