LIFE
A. Brought up at Waikiki (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 270; Kamakau, Tales and Traditions of the People of Old, p 57).
B. Ruler of Oahu (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 270). Became ruler at 40 when his mother died (Kamakau, Tales and Traditions of the People of Old, p 61).
C. "He was greedy and covetous ... [and] wanted to take the lands of his younger brothers as well as everything else left by the parents." After reigning for 6 years, he went to battle his younger brother Ka'ihikapu-a-Manuia at Ke'ehi. Because he was beloved by the people, and was joined by his brother Ha'o, Ku-a-Manuia was defeated (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 270).
D. Died in battle at Keehi, Oahu (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 271).
