LIFE
A. Brought up at Waimanalo (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 270). "raised in Waimanalo in Honolulu, Ewa, to be the chief there" (Kamakau, Tales and Traditions of the People of Old, p 57).
B. Followed his brother Ku-a-Manuia as ruler of Oahu (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 271). Became ruler in the 41st year of his life after being attacked by Ku-a-Manuia (Kamakau, Tales and Traditions of the People of Old, p 61).
C. Fragment: Ha'o-ka-lani is sister to Ka'ihi-kapu-a-Manuia father of Kakuhihewa (Pukui, Hawaiian Genealogies, p 93).
