A. Guardian of younger brother Lonoikamakahiki until he qualified to share high chief of Hawaii with mate Kaikilani (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 114).
B. Chief of Hawaii (McKinzie, Hawaiian Genealogies, vol 2 p 100). His father's kingdom of Hawaii was split into 3; he ruled Kona and Kahala with his brother Umi-o-kalani, but he made war with Umi-o-kalani and conquered the whole of Kona and Kahala districts (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 45-46).
C. He revolted against Lonoikamakahiki, but survived (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 121).
D. Death in battle against invader Kamalalawalu at Kamakahiwa, Hawaii (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 123).
