A. Conflict resolved: McKinzie, Hawaiian Genealogies, vol 2 p 28 identifies as male. Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 61 clearly states she was a woman, as does Royal genealogical board of the chiefs of Hawaii, G-7, p 4 and Genealogy of Pratt and Cummins, G-27, p 4.
B. Birth year 1626, estimated as Stokes' 20 year standard following birth of mother Keliiokalani.
C. She succeeded her father as high chiefess of Hawaii (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 127; Kalakaua, The Legends and Myths of Hawaii, p 347). Ruler of Hawaii except Hilo and Hamakua (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 61).
D. Reign of island of Hawaii estimated to be 1625-1655 A.D. (Kalakaua, The Legends and Myths of Hawaii, p 31,347; He Kuauhau Alii o Hawaii Nei, G-9).

F. On her mother's deathbed, her mother wished the young chiefess Keakamahana to wed Iwikauikaua because her mother could not join with him in their youth. He would be her counselor (Kalakaua, The Legends and Myths of Hawaii, p 348). Her rank was greater than his (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 61).
