LIFE
A. Birth year 1646, estimated as Stokes' 20 year standard prior to first child, Keawe.
Conflict: Reign of the island of Hawaii estimated to be 1655-1685 A.D. (Kalakaua, The Legends and Myths of Hawaii, p 31; He Kuauhau Alii o Hawaii Nei, G-9).
B. "In the person of the Queen-Regant Keakealani-Wahine were united the sacred blood lines of the Prince Makakaualii, King of Hawaii, and the Princess Kaikilani, Queen-Regent of Hawaii" (Descendants of Prince Keeaumoku I. Hms G65, Chart 5-A).
C. Succeeded her mother as high chiefess of Hawaii (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 128). Ruler of Kona, but not Hilo (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 63). "Keakealani was a woman of power and determination. She ran her own government, led her own armies into battle to defend her rights, and took no criticism from anyone, it is written" (Oukah, Hawaiian Royal & Noble Genealogies, p 164).
D. When the Hilo chiefs won in battle, Keakealani was sent to Maui and Molokai as prisoner. She was later restored to Kohala, but ruled in name only (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 63).

F. Fragment: Peleioholani, Genealogy of the Robinson Family and Ancient Legends and Chants of Hawaii, p 4 show a mate by the name of Kanalohanauikawela and son Keaweikekahialiiokamoku.
G. Contemporaries: Chiefs involved in the battles. Kona chiefs were Mahi-kukuku, Mahi-ololi, Mahi-o-Palena, Palena, Luahine, Paua, and Ka-uaua-nui-a-Mahi. Hilo chiefs were Pae, Ka-lani-ku-kau-la-alaa, and Moku (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 63).
