LIFE
A. Birth year 1478, estimated at 30 years prior to the birth of Umi, for he had 2 children from another mate and had an established kingdom before mating with Umi's mother.
B. Ruling chief of Waipio, Hawaii (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 1; Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 72; Pukui, Hawaiian Genealogies, p 7; Keahikuniaalapalapa, Royal Genealogy of H.R.H.P. Kaikilani IV and her Family, G-53, p 6). "There was peace on Hawaii during the long reign of Liloa" (Malo, Hawaiian Antiquities, p 257).
C. Conflict: Reign of island of Hawaii estimated to be 1455-1485 A.D. (Kalakaua, The Legends and Myths of Hawaii, p 31; He Kuauhau Alii o Hawaii Nei, G-9).
