"One tradition says that Wahieloa was born at Kipahulu, Maui; the second tradition gives Punaluu, at Kau, Hawaii, as his birth place; and the third tradition makes Wailuku, Maui his birth place" (Peleioholani, Genealogy of the Robinson Family and Ancient Legends and Chants of Hawaii, p 11).
