Kwan et al, Na Lani Kamehameha, p 21 states he was 23 when he died.
B. He was adopted by Princess Ruth (Hawaiian Chiefs Biographical Abstract) and took on the name of her first husband (Liliuokalani, Hawaii's Story by Hawaii's Queen, p 8).
C. He was "chosen as successor to the throne on February 14, 1874 (McKinzie, Hawaiian Genealogies, vol 1 p 24). He "lived to be named heir apparent, and indeed to fill the office of regent during the absence of Kalakaua" (Liliuokalani, Hawaii's Story by Hawaii's Queen, p 27).
D. He died of rheumatic fever on 10 April 1877 (Alexander, A Brief History of the Hawaiian People, p 303). He died unmarried (Rubincam, America's Only Royal Family, p 87).
