Gida “Luella” Pederson was born on June 16, 1911 on a farm west of Hendricks in Brookings County, South Dakota. She was one of six children born to Haldo and Anna (Setering) Kvernmoe.

She attended country school, and was baptized and confirmed at Singsaas Lutheran Church in rural Hendricks.

In September 1951, she was married to Eddie Pederson and they lived in Hendricks. In September 1995, she entered the Hendricks Nursing Home. Luella loved her church, Faith Lutheran, was fun loving, enjoyed playing games and visiting with family and friends.

Luella is survived by one niece, Mary McNelly of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two nephews, Menter Mathison and his wife, Stena of Sioux Falls, SD., and Paul Kvernmoe and his wife, Gail, of Astoria, SD, and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Luella was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie, her parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
