Funeral Friday For Former Local Resident Funeral services are to be held on Friday afternoon for Mrs. Mervin Hey of Sioux Falls, S. D. The last rites are to be held at the Singsaas church here at 2:30 that afternoon with Rev. Peder Lerseth in charge, and Rev. Blegen of Sioux Falls also having a part in the service. The service here will follow a service in Sioux Falls that morning.
Mrs. Hey passed away in a hospital in Sioux Falls on Monday morning following a prolonged illness. She was a resident of this community prior to the time of her marriage.
Among the survivors are Mr. Hey and two small daughters, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Even Lovro of this community.

Mrs. Mervin Hey Laid to Rest
Funeral services were conducted on Friday for a young lady well-known to many people in this area, Mrs. Mervin Hey. A service in Our Savior's Lutheran church in Sioux Falls, S. D., on Friday morning with Rev. H. N. Blegen in charge preceded the last rites in the Singsaas Lutheran church near Hendricks that afternoon. Rev. Peder Lerseth was in charge of the service at which time Pastor Blegen delivered the sermon. Music was by the Hanson sisters who sang "Heaven Is My Home" and "Beyond the Sunset." Rev. Lerseth sang one number in the Norwegian language. Interment was in the Singsaas cemetery. Pallbearers were Stanley and Edgar Lovro, Llewellyn and Gordon Friestad, Gilbert Lovro Jr., and Joseph Larson.
Judith Hey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Even Lovro, was born at Hendricks on July 28, 1917. She resided here as a child and young lady, and was confirmed in Singsaas Lutheran church. She was a member of Singsaas congregation until the time of her marriage when she joined Our Savior's church in Sioux Falls. She spent practically her entire lifetime previous to her marriage in the Hendricks community. The only exception was three years when she was employed in Canby.
She was united in marriage to Mervin Hey on November 25, 1945. They made their home in Sioux Falls. Mrs. Hey was the mother of two daughters, Janet, four years of age, and Joan, two years of age.
The deceased had been critically ill since last summer and had been hospitalized in Sioux Falls since September. She passed away there on January 8, 1951, at the age of 33 years.
In addition to her husband and two small daughters, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Even Lovro, and three brothers, Eldon, Gerald, and Earl, and her grandmother, Mrs. Sofie Lovro.

Others from out-of-town included Mr. and Mrs. John Lovro and boys, Mrs. Justin Oien and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Steen of Brookings, S. D.; Mrs. Allan Ronning, Pipestone; Mr. and Mrs. Julius Kattke, Lake Norden, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Larson and Mr. and Mrs. Lewellyn Friestad, Toronto, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Meloyd Peseck, Taunton; Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Hey and Wendell, and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hey and Darlene, Tecumse, Oklahoma; Mrs. Marian Goodall, Tucumse, Kansas; and the following from Canby: Mr. and Mrs. Carl Salte, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Kapinos and children, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Leverenz, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Furgeson and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Melby.
