Raised by his uncle (mother's brother) Per Svensen Digregrinden. Went to America in 1876. Lived in Hendricks.

Lars J. Moen was born in Norway in 1860. He immigrated to America and settled in Brookings County, SD and became a prosperous farmer in the South Lake Hendricks community. He died in 1923.
Olava Olson Midtaune Moen was born in Norway in 1849. She was a devoted wife and mother and a good worker in the church. She was instrumental in organizing the South Lake Hendricks Ladies Aid. She died in 1937. Besides the family listed following, the moens raised one foster daughter, Bertha Wilson Olson.
