Obituary

Rochester----The funeral for Wayne M. Nygaard will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Jeff McEarchern officiating.

Mr. Nygaard, 70, of Rochester, former owner of Bilott's Restaurant, died Sunday, November 16, 2003, at his home.

Born August 10, 1933, in Hendricks, Minnesota, he grew up at Mayowood in Rochester, attended Bamber Valley Elementary School and graduated from Rochester High School in 1951. He was a Minnesota State swimming champion in high school. On June 8, 1952, he married Eleanor W. "Elie" Cutting in Millville, MN. They lived in Millville until moving to Rochester in 1953. Mrs. Nygaard was a route foreman at Rochester Dairy for 16 years, and in 1968 purchased Bilotti's Restaurant, which he operated until 1995, when he sold the business and retired. He also had owned Lincorelie Uniform Shop in Rochester. His interests included golfing, fishing, skiing, bow and arrow hunting, and horseback riding.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cindy (Jeff) Beech of Chatfield and Jodi (Al) Smith of Rochester; five grandchildren; and a sister, Lorenchia (Irvin) Scott, of Annandale, MN.
