Elizabeth Roydon
(Abt 1523 - 19 Aug 1595)
}
== Biography ==
Daughter and co-heir to her father, Thomas Roydon of Peckham, Kent. She was co-heiress in 1565 to her nephew, Thomas Roydon, by which she inherited the manor of Roydon Hall (or Fortune), in East Peckham, Kent. In the same year she settled the reversion of the manor of Eastbridge, Kent, on her daughter and son-in-law, Richard and Margaret Dering, and in 1571 she settled the reversion of the manor of Honichild (in Hope All Saints), Kent, on her son by her first marriage, Roger Twysden.
She was married thrice, firstly to William Twysden of Wye and Chelmington, Kent, who died in 1549. Her second husband, Cuthbert Vaughan of Great Chart, Kent, had been killed in 1563 protecting the port of Le Havre against French Catholic forces. Sir Thomas Golding was her third husband. As she was 64 when she married him it is assumed there is no issue to him.
