Everingham (Salt Lake City: the author, 2013), volume III, page 117 DARRELL 17. Mary Roydon was the daughter of Thomas Roydon of Roydon Hall (or Fortune) (in East Peckham, Kent) and Ringes (in Woldham, Kent) by his wife Margaret Whetenhall, daughter of William Whetenhall of Hextall's Court {in East Peckham, Kent) Esq by his wife Anne Cromer. She was said to be 40 in 1565.
On 22 Jan 1541/2 she married Thomas Darrell of Scotney, Esq.
Her aunt, Alice Whetenall, was her husband's stepmother.
