==Research Notes==In the Staffordshire records, Ralph Wolseley is cited to be married to Margaret, daughter of Sir Robert Aston.Collections for a history of Staffordshire, ser. 3, 1917-1918. see page 234-5 online here [https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015014988870;view=1up;seq=298 page 234-5] and widow of John or Robert Kynnersley.
Richardson agrees with this in the entry for Ralph Wolseley.Douglas Richardson, ''Royal Ancestry: A Study in Colonial and Medieval Families,'' 5 vols., ed. Kimball G. Everingham (Salt Lake City, Utah: the author, 2013), Vol V, p 390 WOLSELEY #15. where he says that John was the son of Ralph Wolseley and Margaret, daughter of Robert Aston.
However, in Richardson's entries for Astons, he lists Margaret as daughter of John Aston and Elizabeth Delves.Douglas Richardson, ''Royal Ancestry: A Study in Colonial and Medieval Families,'' 5 vols., ed. Kimball G. Everingham (Salt Lake City, Utah: the author, 2013), Vol I, p 176 ASTON #14. He indicates she married either W. St Andrew or Thomas Kynnardseley and Ralph Wolseley.
Under Robert Aston, he does not include a daughter Margaret. (ASTON #13.) A discussion of this online[https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/soc.genealogy.medieval/Margaret$20Aston|sort:date/soc.genealogy.medieval/4VGetj0fug0/DMcnfIGu9G8J soc.genealog.medieval] concludes that, indeed, Robert was father of Margaret, that dating precludes her from being John's daughter, and that Robert's children were not all listed in many sources.
More research required, however, since all agree that Margaret who married Ralph Wolseley was daughter of Robert, the Magna Carta trail, at least, is not affected.
