In 1418, he was co-heir of his uncle, Sir Baldwin Freville, inheriting manors in Warwickshire, Surrey and Wiltshire. He was Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1452-1453 and had lands in Haywood, Park Hill and Brocton, Staffordshire.
He married [[Brereton-66|Isabel Brereton]], daughter of William Brereton and Alice Corbet. They at least two sons and two daughters:
