In the Scots Peerage under Ogilvie-Grant, Earl of Seafield, it is stated that Patrick
son of John is "claimed as" first of Ballindalloch.

GRANT OF ELCHIES

PATRICK, said to have been
second son of John Mor Grant,
younger of Freuchie, by Muriel,
dau. of Malcolm, 10th Chief of
the Clan Mackintosh, and
brother of John Grant, 2nd of
Freuchie, acquired Ballindalloch
in 1520. He d. after 8 June,
1555.
