==Note==She has apparent sisters named Elizabeth, and there has long been a question whether any of these are the same person. [http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/GEN-MEDIEVAL/2014-05/1400274049 Verity] explains that "We know from chronology that the [[Stewart-8262|Elizabeth]] who married John, 3rd Earl of Lennox, had to be a separate woman from the Elizabeth who married [[Stewart-3270|Robert Innes]], and was living with him as late as 1539." "Boardman proposed combining the Elizabeth who married Alexander Robertson of Strowan (d. 1506), with the one who married the 3rd Earl of Lennox in 1512. At first glance, this would seem to work, but closer inspection proves it unlikely." "Chronology does, however, line up very nicely for the Elizabeth who married Robert Innes of Invermarkie Castle to have been the widow of Alexander Robertson of Strowan."
(Verity also disagrees with the Scots Peerage "Ninian Lord Ross was actually married to Lady Janet Stewart, the sister-in-law of Isabel (Stewart) countess of Lennox. His marriage to the dowager countess of Lennox is an error in the Scots Peerage article on Ross, which confused his marriage contract in 1523 to Elizabeth Ruthven countess of Erroll.")
