}Sir David Stewart, 1st Laird of Rosyth was born about 1388 in Rosyth, Fife, Scotland. He was the the son of Robert Stewart and his wife Janet MacDougall.
He died on 10 April 1444 in Falkland Palace, Scotland. He was starved to death in prison on the order of his uncle Albany, in Scotland to keep him from being King of Scotland.

===Marriage===He was married to Margaret Dundas (1394 -1433) the daughter of James Canmore Dundas and his wife Christian Stewart, Countess of Dundas about 1412.
