== Biography ==:Sir Robert Erskine of that Ilk was the son of Sir William Erskine of that Ilk. He married, firstly, Beatrice de Lindsay, daughter of Sir Alexander de Lindsay. He married, secondly, Christian Menteith, daughter of Sir John Menteith, Lord of Arran and Helen of Mar, in 1352. He died in 1385.:He held the office of Constable of Stirling Castle and was the Scottish Ambassador to England. He held the office of High Chamberlain of Scotland between 1350 and 1357, and again from 1363 to 1364. In 1368 he was granted a royal charter granting Alloa to himself in exhcnage for Strathgartney.
